Bio and Experience

John David graduated from the Academy of Hair Design and has been a professional barber for six years. He is a first-generation Mexican-American from the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. He got into barbering to support his family while participating in pastoral ministry at his church in West Salem. He and his wife own and operate the business and do ministry as a family.

John David is meticulous and timely. He pays close attention to detail and is passionate about growing his craft. He practices the new concepts he is learning to stay fresh. He enjoys getting to know people and hearing their stories. He is always up for praying with people, too, if they ever need it. 

Bio and Experience

"Live to cut, cut to live."  Jeff started cutting hair five years ago and recently graduated Johnny Matthews to become a licensed professional.

Bio and Experience

Marsel is a 30-year-old licensed barber born and raised in Portland with nearly a decade of experience after graduating from Blended Barber College. His passion for barbering is only surpassed by his love for basketball and commitment to giving back to the community. When he's not at the shop or vibing with his family, he's actively involved in grassroots youth basketball, a cause he holds dear.

What You Can Expect

Marsel looks to give consistent, personalized haircuts that are on point with the vision of his clients. He specializes in taper fades and beards while being a student of skin fades and the longer gentleman style on top. He has a wide range of interests, including music, sports (basketball and football), gaming, gym training, and higher education. 

Bio and Experience

Amber has been in the industry for 20 years, graduating from the Academy of Hair Design Inc. She loves meeting new people and getting to know who they are, creating a cut and style that works for their lives. She is trained to work with all hair types and textures - men's, women's, and children's. She also enjoys doing anything with a straight razor, especially beards!

When you sit in her chair, you can expect a full consultation, relaxing service, and fun conversations. You will walk out styled and ready for the rest of the day. 

Bio and Experience

Irene is 28-years-old and has been professionally cutting hair since 2016, after graduating from Paul Mitchell Beauty School. She values work-life balance and spending time with her little family of four - her son, daughter, and hubby. Her favorite part of her work is meeting new people and being a part of their lives, even if it is a small part of caring for their hair.

Irene gives her clients of all ages undivided attention and likes ensuring they are relaxed and have a good experience. She is mindful of the time and values punctuality. Communication is everything to her, and she does a full consultation before getting started. 

Bio and Experience

Quincey Murray is from La Grande, Oregon, and recently graduated from Johnny Matthew's Barber College. He is in his first year of barbering and is our only left-handed barber in the shop. Quincey has a big heart for working with people with disabilities, giving time and patience to all clients.

What You Can Expect

Quincey is easy to work with and will talk to you about music, especially classic rock and funk. If you get him started on sports, you'll learn about his favorite teams - the San Antonio Spurs, Anaheim Angels/Ducks, and New York Jets.

Ben has been cutting hair since 2019. He graduated from Johnny Matthew's Barber College and specializes in men's fades, mullets, and beard trims.

Ben is a guy who can find a nerdy conversation to have his clients -- anime, gaming, and movies - are among his favorite topics. He also likes to hear about new places to eat and is always up for trying different foods. His main goal is to ensure his clients get the haircut they pictured when they booked their appointment.

With 2 years of professional experience and an education from Johnny Mathews Barber School, Backyard Barbr delivers precision cuts, clean fades, and a relaxed welcoming vibe.  Every service is about attention to detail and keeping you looking sharp.

Bio and Experience

Robert has 17 years of experience, trained under European hair stylists, was a teacher at CHDC and ran his own studio in Silverton, OR for six years.
